Greenlighting: A young, different sex outlet. [03 Jul 2005|03:29pm]
[ mood | amused ]
[ music | Eisley - My Lovely ]

I was doing my usual news-browsing, email checking, and casual surfing of the web when I was IMed by my friend Dan. He linked me to a Wikipedia article about 'Greenlighting', something he was monitoring and looking into because he is obsessed with editing on there. He was doing some research and linked me to a site that appears to have only come to exist as of early this July.

Something didn't check out here, so I did my own digging and found out what happened ... something about their previous host being not good enough or crashing. Amid a board of several hundred posts by not exactly the internet's keenest users.. this sexcrazed community really does seem into their tightly-knit trend/fad/whatever you want to call it.

So what the hell is this anyway?

"Greenlighting" as interpreted from this mostly informative community site seems to be a signal much like the traffic light it was derived from. A signal for what? Open, experimental sex with anyone who acknowledges this wordless signal by 'unpopping' the green polo shirt collar the sex-craving person wears.

This sounds pretty unsafe, STD-wise... but as an excuse for any socially engaged person who is down on their luck to get some action - this is brilliant.

I vaguely, and by vaguely I mean barely or closer to not at all... remember a few guys who seemed like they were 'together' in such green polos at Coconuts. Coconuts is not exactly the most popular club in Tucson, but on college night it is packed wall to wall with sexual tension and desire. Maybe these guys were together and swinging, or just not 'out' in this sort of scene.

I've written my blogger friends about this and they've been checking into this. It seems crazy enough to be legitimate... keeping in mind the 'toothing' hoax and what came of that.

If you check out the forums, a lot of the topics are pretty humorous. I don't know if its because they are a really fun bunch to be associated with or if its because they have less-than-mature internet etiquette.

Well I got back from Tucson this afternoon about 5, for Orientation in the past two days. They were full days, grueling, a lot of information but I met some people there and I just didn't know exactly what the University experience was going to be like until I got on the campus. It took 10 minutes just to walk to the center of campus from the entrance street. This place is huge.

The University of Arizona is going to be my new academic home, alas I won't be living on campus. There are a lot of pros and cons to that, but I'll be in a house with Kristen (Which I helped her move into today) and the house is great! I hope the house mates we'll find are as fun as we are.

So back to how big the campus is... yes it is huge. It looks like I'll have to park as near to campus as I can, legally... and bike the rest of the distance. My registration is kind of fubar because of my transferring credits which still haven't been processed... so I am stuck with gimp classes until I can get my real ones added.

I met April, from San Francisco, Joe from Atlanta, this other girl who shares my major who is from Phoenix(Computer Engineering), and another gal who is from around town. Overall, the majority of this group were from out of state.

There were many seminars, including one about Date/Acquaintance Rape. 1 in 6 males at U of A are sexually assaulted. I thought this was hilarious for some reason.

I should be moving in in late July to early August... I can't wait. Actually I can wait because moving is a pain, but its worth it.

I left Monica some messages on AIM from there, didn't hear back though. Haven't talked to her in a while... I get the impression she is done with me for some reason... then again I've HAD that impression before ;) Could be wrong. Ladies have always been a handful, but I just happen to care wayyyy more about this one ;)

Massive Attack - Teardrop has played 934 times in a row since about 4 or 5 days ago when I started it. Awesome.

Go Wildcats!

Bear down.

Growing Up [10 Jun 2004|07:04pm]
I was talking in this IRC channel ... and someone posted photos of Hermione from Harry Potter, oogling over her erm... growing up-ness. ;)

So anyways, here's what we came up with.

Focus on the eyes, not the kids doing a jig behind them... and DEFINITELY NOT THE MINI DENZEL WASHINGTON LOOKING LITTLE NIGLET.

Yeah I said niglet bitch.

Yum?

The hell... [06 Jun 2004|11:15am]
[ mood | melancholy ]
[ music | 50 Cent - 21 Questions ]

So the past week has been really tough on me, school starting up again, the college not knowing wtf they are doing apparently, some news that set me back mentally and emotionally, disliking my parent more and more.

I think I have destroyed my body this week. I drank at least 30 sodas, 12 Extra Strength tylenol, 4 vicodin, read her old letters a few dozen times, went on numerous walks, and have been arguing with myself ever since. Ever argued with yourself? Man that is freaky.

So in order to divert my thoughts and feelings, which should only be temporary anyway... I decided to become a ninja.

I am such a freak. Monica picked a winner! Haha.

Ludacris - Splash Waterfalls

Great song, ... the non-edited one of course.

I'm writing the inevitable interpretive 'The Great Gatsby' essay. This is surely my favorite book...

Its a carbon copy of myself, but its way better. Gatsby gets rich off of bootlegging/smuggling and goes to take back Daisy, his love from years past. She's of course ALL over his wallet... but in the end, it means nothing.

Nothing!

Its just such a great book. I don't often talk about books but this one is damn well deserved.

Tyra brought up a fantasy scenario..

Kristen in her Viper
Tyra in her Mazda RX8
Me in my Ferrari

I said the first thing my ass could think of.

I change my mind completely, but don't tell me to turn down my bass ;)

I hope to get rid of the spic one day, maybe late this year when I can afford to. But the bottom line is its a truck.. it works.. so I'll drive it. Right now that's not so bad, Immanual (some guy I know.. well I know his name) had his black Mustang fucked with today during school. Shitty!

Well kids, that's all... life's great, I've got 85 cents (QT) and friends to keep me in check. What else could I ask for right now?
